  • Inhalation of ink’s vapors can cause nose, throat irritation, one is getting drowsy. Prolonged irritation brings headache, giddiness. Prolonged contact can cause skin irritation; skin is getting dry. Contact with eyes can cause strong irritation, inflammation of cornea. Ink consumption can cause stomach ache, depression, head ache. Big amount of swallowed ink can cause coma.

12. Ecologic data

Ethanol

Miscible in water. It evaporates from water surface. It is a low toxic liquid, considerably biodegradable. Fast oxidizes in water and on air in consequence of photochemical reactions.

  • Strong toxicity for fish: LC50 = 1300 mg/liter/96h (rainbow trout)

  • Strong toxicity for crustacean: n.d.a.

  • Decrease in growth of algae: n.d.a.

  • Decrease in growth of bacteria: n.d.a.

Ethyl acetate

In the systems containing oxidizing agents and salted water it biodegrades easily.
This product is classified as nearly non-toxic for water organism.

  • Strong toxicity for fish: LC50 > 200 mg/liter/96h (rainbow trout)

  • Strong toxicity for crustacean: LC50 > 700 mg/liter/48h

  • Decrease in growth of algae: 550 mg/liter

  • Decrease in growth of bacteria: 650 mg/liter

  • Decrease in growth of protozoon: 650 mg/liter

13. Destruction and Neutralization

  • Destruct ink by combustion in a specialized installation. Dispose of in accordance with Local Authority Regulations.
